Looks like you made it to my video portfolio! My advanced section is the "3D Compositing" Section. I appreciate you checking out my work!
Demo Reels
Above is a compilation of projects I worked on in 2013. Everything you see and in most cases what you hear was created by me. I shot the videos, made the sets, did the 3D modeling, compositing, video editing audio syncing etc. Because the nature of some of my work is becoming more serious, it's hard to get my clients to agree to let me share my work publicly so my next Demo reel will be a combination of whatever Im allowed to share.
In 2012 I was sure I wanted to switch from doing audio full time to visual full time. This is a compilation of all the projects I worked on that year for school and praid freelance gigs.
Music Videos
Music production and writing songs was my first passion, after I had a good understanding of the video process and special effects I found it fitting to make myself a music video of my own work. Its incredibly hard to shoot your own music video but I pulled it off! I had to train perfect strangers with my camera to get a few of the shots, I truly appreciate your help who every you are. I left 1 flaw in the special effects to remind myself of my progress.

Vallejo Rapper Oscyi, aka 707 Mixtape Mayor has recorded a new batch of music for 2016. This track titled Hard Rock was recorded in the heart of the 707 in a secrete basement hang out where he gives a exclusive performance that draws the neighborhood. This video consist of live takes. "My City" drops February 2016!!!! |
This is a music video I made that won 2nd place in the moving image film festival. I am responsible for everything you see here.

This is the first music video I made when i learned how to do 3D matchmoving! 3D match moving is putting 3d objects in live action footage. It's a very challenging process.

Video editing
In this video, I filmed a friend of mine sk8boarding @ Ocean beach in San Francisco. We filmed for about 30min (using cell phones and a cheap DSLR) while people from a tour bus watched us. It was a spur of the moment thing, but with my editing skills, almost seems like we tried to make a real skateboarding video!
3D Compositing
In this video I show you the end result of an idea I had. I thought to myself, if I could take a photo and turn it into a scene that has real depth, I could take my green screen production to the next level. I was very successful. I have now started compositing a photo to turn into a 3d set based on photorealism.
I have been experimenting with taking a x box kinect device and have it mimic movements onto characters. I had a moment of genius when I decided to point it at a tv. That didn't work so well, I then isolated the dancer and slowed down the speed. That seemed to work! here are the results

I have been spending time learning how to make particle simulations. The ultimate fluid simulation is smoke and fire, So i made this explosions filming the mountain in my backyard. I needed to learn how to do this for a special effects job I got. The job was successful. I even impressed myself. This was just the practice for that. I am unable to post the job I worked on.

I took footage from my cell phone and added a 3D model of my logo to the footage. In this scene I was focused on color grading my model to match the color, and level changes that come with a cheap camera. After I mastered that I proceeded to include the shadows on the environment (the ground and wall shadow) then reflections from the environment onto the model, it looks pretty realistic if you ask me, I even went through the trouble of matching the film grain from the cell phone and degraded the 3d model to match in soft footage.

There was absolutely no footage shot to create this video. I took a still image and did image projection onto 3D geometry in a 3D software package. I then animated then added sound effects. I bet you can't guess what I used for the flapping letters.

In this video I show myself modeling a SciFi door and placing it in footage I shot with my cell phone.
|
In this Video I take a still image and composite a animation into the image to make the image look like it's a video.

Photo Manipulation
In this video I am speed recording myself creating a end of the world scene for a independant film. This is step 1. Step 2 is creating a 3d environment to shoot green screen actors on. If your curious about how something like this looks done. Please see my example video. I turn a 2d photo into a 3d scene!
Animations
In December 2016 I told myself I was going to teach myself how to create 3d characters from a 2d drawing and animate them before the end of the year. I was successful 2hrs before midnight! Happy New Year! (this is not a render. Just a screen recording from the program window)
This is a conceptual animation... You might need a little background in video to follow so let me walk you through this. In "3D software land" there is a way to bend and warp geometry (geometry is the object you see on screen, it is made up of polygons or polygonal data that maps visually for us to see shapes and objects) via the displacement channel. The displacement channel works like this... Black and white. literally. any part of the displacement channel set to black is telling the channel to subtract geometry if it is set to white raise the geometry and if it is a 127 RGB grey then do absolutely nothing. With this concept I took a video, converted it into black and white, added a high amount of contrast then added it to the displacement channel and projected the displacement channel onto a group of geometry (the rings). After that I simulated the physics and here is the animation.
